ECR personnel are experienced and qualified to assist in evaluation of important forensics-related issues such as:
- PRP Liability: Who is the party responsible for the environmental release?
- Age-dating: What was the approximate date of the release?
- Allocation of responsibility: To what extent is Party X responsible for the release?
- Cause: What was the likely cause of the release?
The experience of ECR's personnel in forensics issues includes:
- evaluating the specific causes of gasoline releases at gasoline service stations
- evaluating the cause of a mercury release from an abandoned mercury manometer
- allocating responsibility for contamination at sites impacted by multiple releases
- estimating the age of releases of petroleum hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents

ECR uses historical reference material to obtain data on

At several sites, ECR personnel provided these services as part of litigation support and expert witness services.
