ECR personnel have performed third-party reviews for clients including:
- insurance companies
- citizen's groups
- municipalities
- abutters
- down-gradient property owners
These reviews are focused according to your needs and your budget. Reviews performed for insurers have resulted in cost savings hundreds of times higher than the review fees. Our reviews for citizen's groups have focused on (1) making the most productive use of limited resources, and (2) achieving the maximum amount of community protection and satisfaction for the effort expended.
In a recent case, ECR provided a review of a case for a Massachusetts municipality that was being sued by an opponent of an approved project. The primary issue raised by the opponent was the manner in which the project proponent responded to the detection of trichloroethylene (TCE) from an unknown source. ECR reviewed the environmental documents prepared by both sides, identified the source of the TCE using publicly-available records, and made specific recommendations for resolving outstanding issues. As a result of these efforts, the Lowell Sun stated that ECR's report "paved the way for alleviating concerns about [TCE] contamination." (See copy of September 13, 2003 newspaper article, reproduced with permission of the Lowell Sun.)

ECR's work on this project resolved this long-standing dispute that had "languished in State Land Court" without the need for additional litigation.
